"Heaven's a heartbreak away," Justin Bieber sings on "Let Me Love You," his new collaboration with French EDM producer DJ Snake. The single, which explores the tropical electro-pop vibe of Bieber's "Sorry," finds the singer pleading lovelorn lyrics over booming synth pads and choppy vocal loops.
"Let Me Love You" highlights DJ Snake's recently released debut LP,Encore, which is available to stream via Spotify and Apple Music. The 14-track album follows a string of multi-platinum singles – including 2013's ubiquitous, Grammy-nominated "Turn Down for What," featuring Lil Jon. DJ Snake has also cracked the charts by collaborating with AlungaGeorge ("You Know You Like It"), Dillon Francis ("Get Low") and Major Lazer/MØ ("Lean On").
Encore also features guest spots from Skrillex, Bipolar Sunshine, Jeremih, Young Thug, Swizz Beatz, Travi$ Scott, Migos and Mr. Hudson, among others. Last month, DJ Snake released a bizarre video for "Talk," in which a woman falls in love with her Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible.
Bieber recently teamed with Major Lazer and MØ for the dancehall-flavored "Cold Water," from Lazer's forthcoming LP, Music Is the Weapon.
"It was spontaneous, no one thought it would work," producer Diplotold Rolling Stone of the sessions. Noting the track's unconventional production flourishes, he praised the "awesome" experimentation found on modern pop radio. "You can tell if something's authentic or not," he said.
